Islamabad
The Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference was constituted in Seoul, South Korea, in April 2025 under the visionary leadership of Honourable Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Founding Chairman of ISC and Chairman Senate of Pakistan. The forum emerged in direct response to an alarming global landscape in throes of escalating multidimensional and unconventional security threats, developmental disparities, and geopolitical challenges demanding parliament-led solutions. Steered by global parliamentary leadership, it bridges traditional divides by enabling people-centered policy exchange, cooperative solutions to transnational challenges, sustained parliamentary dialogue, and collective action to secure peace and prosperity.
The ISC reaffirms Pakistan’s pioneering commitment to parliamentary diplomacy, conflict prevention and inclusive multilateral engagement. With over 45+ Speakers of Parliaments across continents as its members, ISC underscores a universal recognition that parliaments, being the voice of the people, must lead in shaping a resilient international order. It empowers legislative leaders to heal divides and forge pathways to shared prosperity. The forum primarily enables collective response to pressing global imperatives like conflict resolution through dialogue and mediation, water, energy and food security, climate crisis, sustainable development, and promoting interfaith and inter-cultural harmony.
In this spirit, the Founding Chairman and Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has convened an ISC inaugural conference in Islamabad, Pakistan, from 10-12 November 2025. This landmark gathering marks a historic moment: the first assembly of the ISC since its founding and Pakistan’s unprecedented role as convener of 45+ global parliamentary leaders. Centered on the theme “Peace, Security and Development”, the conference aligns with Pakistan’s identity as a constructive, peace-loving nation on the world stage. Delegates will translate principles into action through the Islamabad Declaration. It would be a blueprint for peacebuilding, ethical governance and sustainable development, thereby solidifying the role of ISC and parliaments in advancing tangible strategies for our collective future.
