Abdul Akbar Khan, son of Sher Akbar Khan, was a Pakistani politician from Mardan who represented PK-29 Mardan-VII in the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 2008 to 2013. He had a distinguished career, serving as Deputy Speaker and Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and was elected to the Provincial Assembly multiple times on the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket. He also served as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) on the PPP ticket. Unfortunately, he passed away on January 12, 2017, in Islamabad due to heart failure.
