PROVINCIAL ASSEMBLY

Mr. Babar Saleem Swati is renowned politician and twice elected as Member of the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunwa and has been actively involved in politics since 2005. He has earned a B.Sc (Hons) Degree in Geology and also earned diplomas in Management and Communication Skills. He remained part of major political activities and platforms in the Hazara Division. He contested general election of 2008 on the ticket of PML(N). Later in 2013, he contested the general election of 2013 as well as independent candidate. He vibrantly carried out his political and social activities and always focused on improving the social and political profile of his city. In 2018 he contested general election from the platform of PTI and got elected as member of the KP Assembly. He particularly worked in various social sectors ameliorating the lifestyle and infrastructure of his constituency. He was later made Advisor to the Chief Minister on Home and Tribal Affairs Department and performed his duties strenuously. He was also member of the Public Accounts Committee of the KP Assembly and was regularly observing the committee affairs and participating in the meetings of the committee and played his role in bringing transparency in the financial affairs of the province. He was also the chair of Standing Committee on Home and Tribal Affairs and worked closely with department for bring transparency and accountability in the department and addressed the questions and other business referred to the committee with great determination. In 2024 General Elections he again won the election and got elected as member of the Assembly. He got elected as Speaker on the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunwa on 29 February 2024.
